Fortec Motorsports added another accolade to its impressive record at the weekend, as the team wrapped up the first-ever Challenge Cup title in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA.

Despite contesting just six of the maximum seven rounds eligible for Challenge Cup competitors this season, Ary Bansal delivered a string of standout performances to claim the crown with one meeting to spare.

Qualifying on Saturday morning brought strong results for the team, with Ary securing third overall and second on his second-best lap, ensuring front and second row starts for races one and three. Henry Joslyn – recently named a BRDC Rising Star – was seventh, while Thomas Ingram-Hill continued his development in the category with 20th.

In race one, Henry was unfortunately eliminated in a first-lap incident, while Ary challenged for the lead before settling into third. Despite pressuring the car ahead, opportunities to pass were limited and he took the flag in third. Behind them, Thomas made progress but was later penalised for track limits, finishing 22nd.

Race two on Sunday saw Ary climb to sixth early on, before executing a bold move around the outside at Brooklands to take fifth. Following a Safety Car period, he progressed further to secure third place, his second podium of the weekend. Henry’s race was compromised after front wing damage required a pit stop, leaving him a lap down, while Thomas finished 18th after another track-limits penalty.

In race three, Ary and Henry ran close together in the early stages, Ary regaining a place after a slow start. He then enjoyed a spirited side-by-side battle over two laps before the Safety Car was deployed. At the same time, Henry was penalised for a false start, eventually finishing 18th, while Thomas was classified 21st. Ary continued to battle in the closing laps and crossed the line fourth, a result that secured him the inaugural Challenge Cup title with a round to spare.

Fortec Motorsports will return to British F4 action at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 3–5 October, as the 2025 season concludes on the venue’s iconic Grand Prix circuit.
