Fortec Motorsports delivered a competitive weekend in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, as the series made a visit to Circuit Zandvoort (11–12 July). Across three tightly contested races, the team recorded multiple top 10 finishes on the demanding Dutch Grand Prix venue.
Lap times were close throughout Thursday testing and Friday practice, and qualifying on Saturday morning reflected the close margins across the 32 car field. Ethan Carney led the Fortec quartet in eighth, followed by Cash Felber in 15th, Roman Felber in 18th and Kit Belofsky in 19th.
Race one
Ethan started from fourth on the partially reversed grid race on Saturday afternoon, settling into fifth after the first corner. Cash ran strongly just behind, while Roman made an excellent launch to climb into tenth, and Kit gained a place before the Safety Car was deployed.
With 12 minutes remaining racing resumed and the pack immediately bunched together. Roman and Kit each picked up another position, while Ethan became embroiled in a tight fight for fifth — briefly losing the spot before reclaiming it. Cash joined the same battle and, at the flag, Ethan finished fifth on the road but was demoted to sixth by a post‑race penalty, with Cash eighth, Roman ninth and Kit 15th.
Race two
Ethan again lined up fourth for Sunday morning’s second race and, despite a strong launch, slipped to seventh into Turn One. He quickly recovered on lap two, retaking both positions as two rivals collided and, at the same time, Kit was forced to retire which brought out the Safety Car.
The restart came with eight minutes remaining, Cash up to 12th and Roman 18th. Unfortunately, Roman sustained damage shortly afterwards and was forced to retire, prompting another Safety Car period. A single green lap remained, during which Ethan held fifth at the line, with Cash 12th. After the race, Ethan received a five second penalty that dropped him to 18th, elevating Cash to 11th.
Race three
The final contest was set on quickest qualifying times and Roman made the strongest opening lap of the Fortec drivers, gaining three places to sit just behind Cash. A Safety Car interruption followed, and when racing resumed, another incident brought the neutralisation back almost immediately.
With time for only one final lap once the track went green, positions remained largely unchanged. Ethan finished 10th, Cash 16th, Roman 18th and Kit 21st, rounding out a weekend of solid points scoring pace for the team.
Wera Tools British F4 returns to action on 24–26 July, rejoining the British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton: the UK’s fastest circuit.
