Fortec Motorsports extended its podium streak in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, as Ethan Carney claimed a superb maiden second‑place finish on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit (29–31 May).
After a rapid turnaround from a scorching Snetterton weekend, conditions remained hot at the British Grand Prix venue. In qualifying, Kit Belofsky led the Fortec quartet in eighth, followed by Ethan in 11th, Cash Felber in 18th, and Roman Felber in 28th.
Race one
Saturday afternoon’s opening race began dramatically when the pole‑sitter stalled. Although the field avoided the stationary car, Kit was squeezed between two rivals and suffered heavy contact on both sides, yet remarkably continued.
In the early laps, Cash made strong progress to run 11th after gaining four places, with Ethan also up four into 13th, Kit climbing to 15th and Roman charging forward an impressive 11 positions to 20th. A Safety Car period left time for only one racing lap, during which Kit was shuffled back to 30th. After post‑race penalties were applied, Cash was classified eighth, Ethan 12th and Roman 27th after being judged to have lined up outside his grid slot.
Race two
Ethan lined up on the front row for the partially reversed‑grid second race on a cooler, windier Sunday morning. He was forced onto the grass exiting the first corner and slipped to sixth, while Kit moved into fourth and Cash and Roman avoided trouble further back. Shortly afterwards, Roman was caught in an incident that forced his retirement, triggering a Safety Car and then red flags.
On the restart — with the grid reset to original positions — Ethan launched well and briefly took the lead before being repassed. Kit suffered contact and dropped to 11th. Ethan drove confidently to secure his maiden Wera Tools British F4 podium in second place, with Kit finishing 13th and Cash 14th.
Race three
The final race of the weekend was for the historic BRDC International Trophy, previously contested by drivers in Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3000, and newly aligned with British F4 for 2026 to recognise rising single‑seater talent.
All four Fortec drivers made clean starts, but multiple incidents brought out red flags, one of which eliminated Roman. Once the track was cleared, the race restarted from scratch, with Kit running seventh, Ethan ninth and Cash 14th. The latter continued his forward momentum, climbing to tenth by the finish where the trio held their positions to the flag, rounding out a productive weekend for the team.
After consecutive race weekends and another podium added to the tally, the Wera Tools British F4 squad now takes a short break before heading to Zandvoort — home of the Dutch Grand Prix — on 11–12 July.
