Fortec Motorsports celebrated a superb double podium weekend in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, as Cash Felber and Kit Belofsky each secured second place finishes at Brands Hatch (8–10 May).
Drivers Cash and Roman Felber, Kit Belofsky and Ethan Carney faced a revised qualifying format, with the 30 car field split into two 15 minute sessions to ensure clear track space on the tight and undulating Indy circuit. In the first group, Cash was sixth fastest with Kit 13th, while in the second, Ethan was ninth and Roman 10th.
Race one
Saturday afternoon’s opening contest began under bright sunshine, with Ethan and Roman each gaining a place on the first lap. However, on lap two the Safety Car was deployed after separate incidents forced both Kit and Cash to retire, and the race was red flagged to allow the track to be cleared safely.
At the restart, Roman climbed to 13th with Ethan close behind, before Roman was forced off track while avoiding another car. He then charged forward, gaining four places before the Safety Car returned. After racing resumed briefly, Ethan took the flag in 11th, while Roman finished 24th after receiving a time penalty for exceeding track limits.
Race two
Cash lined up on the front row for the partially reversed grid second race and fought hard to hold position at the start before closing in on the leader. The Safety Car appeared again when Roman was forced to retire following contact from a rival, with Ethan running 16th and Kit 20th.
Once racing resumed, Ethan and Kit ran together in 17th and 18th before closing onto a large pack battling for 11th. Kit capitalised as rivals fought ahead to take 16th, with Ethan following him through into 17th. At the front, Cash delivered a composed drive to secure a brilliant maiden Wera Tools British F4 podium in second place.
Race three
Rain before the final race created a strategic shake up, with many drivers — including all four Fortec cars — pitting after the formation lap to switch to slick tyres. Kit led the pit lane starters in 19th overall, followed by Ethan in 25th, Roman in 26th, and Cash in 28th.
A few laps later, the Safety Car was deployed as the field bunched up on the drying circuit. A delay followed while the order was corrected, and only a handful of green flag laps were completed before the Safety Car reappeared. With five minutes remaining, the race restarted for a frantic finale. Kit surged forward to claim a superb maiden podium in second, Ethan delivered an excellent fourth, Roman finished 12th, while Cash finished in the pit lane.
Fortec Motorsports returns to Wera Tools British F4 action on 22–24 May at Snetterton in Norfolk, while the GB4 Championship also competes that same Bank Holiday weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
