Fortec Motorsports delivered a strong showing in the GB4 Championship at Donington Park (27–28 June), highlighted by Franciszek Cegielski’s superb second place and Rookie victory in the opening contest, alongside Jordyn Martin’s best finish of the season.

Qualifying set the tone for a competitive weekend. Franciszek produced his strongest session of the year to secure second on the grid, Jordyn impressed with fifth, and Thomas Ingram Hill was 15th after losing his best laps to track limits penalties — a fate shared by several drivers.

Race One

The opening race on Saturday afternoon began with Franciszek holding firm in second, while Jordyn slipped back slightly before the Safety Car was deployed with two cars off track. Once racing resumed, Thomas found himself under pressure in the midfield, losing ground at the chicane before contact from another driver pushed him further back. Fortunately, the car escaped damage and he quickly recovered to 11th.

Up front, Franciszek delivered a composed drive to secure the overall podium and Rookie win, while Jordyn capped a strong performance with seventh — her best result of the season.

Race Two

Sunday’s second contest brought early drama. Starting third, Jordyn dropped to seventh off the line, with Thomas close behind after gaining a place. A lock up at the final turn sent Jordyn into Thomas, costing her a front wing and triggering a Safety Car. When racing resumed, Thomas was caught wide at Coppice and slid into the barrier, ending his race and prompting another neutralisation.

In the closing laps, Franciszek mounted an excellent recovery, climbing six places to finish ninth. Jordyn regrouped well to take 16th.

Race Three

The final race was halted almost immediately after a multi car incident blocked the final corner. Following a near 20 minute delay, the race restarted and Thomas attempted a move around the outside of Jordyn but ran off track and dropped to 19th, while the American youngster settled into 14th.
Franciszek was firmly in the battle for fifth, gaining two places before another Safety Car was required for a car stranded in the gravel. On the restart, he was squeezed over the chicane kerbs and lost momentum, falling to 10th. Thomas charged forward with three late passes, Franciszek fought back to secure ninth at the flag, and Jordyn finished 15th and third in the Rookie classification.

The GB4 Championship returns at the start of August on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, where the GB3 Championship will also be in action.
