Fortec Motorsports and Jack Taylor endured a frustrating weekend in the GB3 Championship at Donington Park (5–6 September), as the young Australian’s pace and promise went unrewarded after damage forced his retirement and ruled him out of the final race.
After productive testing and practice — including going second quickest in Thursday’s opening session — Jack headed into Saturday’s dual qualifying runs and delivered consistent pace, finishing 13th in both.
Race one
Jack made a clean start to Saturday’s opener but slipped back two places on the first lap before regrouping and retaking one of them shortly afterwards. He and his rival traded positions again before Jack pulled clear and focused on closing the gap ahead. With limited opportunities to advance further, he took 12th at the flag.
Race two
Sunday morning’s race began with early pressure as Jack lost ground off the line but quickly recovered the positions before a Safety Car intervention. Once racing resumed, he made a move into Turn One, but contact followed as he and his rival locked wheels, sending both into the barriers and forcing retirement. The damage sustained meant Jack was unable to take part in race three.
Fortec Motorsports and Jack Taylor return to GB3 Championship action at the end of September for the penultimate meeting of the 2026 season at Brands Hatch.
