Fortec Motorsports returned to GB3 Championship action at Silverstone (1/2 August), where Jack Taylor recovered strongly from race one engine issues to secure two solid finishes across the weekend.
After productive test and practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, Jack headed into Saturday’s dual qualifying periods and recorded the 18th and 17th‑fastest times respectively.
Race One
Starting 18th for Saturday afternoon’s opener, Jack made an excellent first lap, climbing four places before the Safety Car was deployed for a stranded car. Once racing resumed, he unfortunately lost pace and was forced to retire with an engine problem.
Race Two
Sunday morning brought a reset, and Jack immediately made progress, moving up three positions to run 14th. Although he briefly slipped back, he quickly regained the place and began closing on the group ahead. With limited time remaining, further overtakes proved out of reach, and he finished in 14th.
Race Three
The final race followed a similar pattern, with Jack again gaining ground on the opening lap to move into 15th before taking another position shortly afterwards. He then joined an eight‑car train stretching from seventh to 14th, pushing hard but unable to find a clear opportunity to advance. He crossed the line in that spot, rounding out a positive recovery from Saturday’s setback.
Fortec Motorsports and Jack Taylor return to GB3 Championship action on 5/6 September, with three races on the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit.
